Roasted Garlic & Cranberry Greek Yogurt Dip {Visa $100 Gift Card Giveaway!}

Every year around this time, my mind starts spinning with endless ideas for holiday dishes. Even though my family is quite traditional when it comes to holiday eats, I try my best every year to incorporate a few new — blog-ish, if you will — dishes to our holiday meals. In my opinion, holiday snacks and appetizers are equally, if not more, as fun as “real meals.”

That’s why I was super excited when I was contacted through BlogHer on behalf of Kettle Brand Chips to create a holiday dip to serve alongside one of over thirty (!) flavors of Kettle Brand Chips this holiday season.

All-natural potato chips + dip + holiday season… I was sold.

Since I was creating a dip to serve during the holiday season, I really wanted to incorporate holiday flavors in the dip. But because I’m borderline addicted to sweets, I also really wanted the dip to be sweet.

I took to my Facebook page to ask for sweet dip ideas; many suggested chocolate and peanut butter, which sounded delicious, but I had a feeling most of you would think I was crazy to serve chocolate dip with salty Kettle Brand Chips. So, I went to the grocery store and roamed around, looking for inspiration…

I had nearly given up when I spotted a display of cranberries out of the corner of my eye. Cranberries = holidays!

After whipping up a simple whole-berry cranberry sauce, I combined it with roasted garlic, my favorite Greek yogurt, and just a pinch of salt, pepper, and cinnamon to create an incredibly simple, sweet and savory holiday dip.

I recommend pairing the dip with Kettle Brand’s Sea Salt Chips — which, by the way, consist of just potatoes, oil, and sea salt! — because the salt from the chips complements the tangy flavor of the yogurt and cranberry sauce in the dip. I also think the Sweet Onion or Honey Dijon flavored chips would be delicious with this dip though!

Oh, and the folks at Kettle Brand asked if I’d share the dip with you via video, so, I did! Please excuse my rambling.

One last thing… since my video probably made you want to run to the store to stock up on Kettle Brand chips and dip ingredients, one lucky reader is going to win a $100 Visa gift card! Just answer this question: What is your favorite holiday dip? Aren’t the holidays just a wonderful season?

  1. This looks oh so yum! Can’t wait to make it and try it. And looking at the many flavors of Kettle Chips, I think I’d have to give the “New York Cheddar” a try. You can’t go wrong with NY Cheddar 🙂

  2. My favorite dip is actually a salsa that has black eyed peas, diced tomatoes, zesty italian dressing, corn and fresh herbs and garlic, so yum!

    1. I love salsa! It’s funny, I never think of it right away when I think of dips, but it is so good and healthy too.

    1. I love love love guacamole too. 🙂 Whenever I go to Chipotle I make sure a big mound of it ends up on top of my salad!

    1. I’ve never really loved spinach artichoke dip, but I know so many people love it! Maybe I should give it another try…

    1. Ha, spin dip seems to be the prevailing favorite! Funny thing is, I have never loved it… I think it’s the artichoke (I know, I know)

  3. What a fun dip you made! I would’ve never though to dip chips into a cranberry dip but I love it. Especially after making cranberry cream cheese spread for bagels. As for my favorite dip. I really love chocolate chip cookie dough dip with nilla wafers.

  4. oh. my. GAAH, this dip sounds amazing! THIS will be my new favorite dip! I cannot wait to try this.

for now, my favorite dip is caramelized onion bacon dip – we do not do the holidays without it. 😉

    1. Caramelized onion bacon dip is tough to battle against – and I think I might need to make that on Christmas Eve, sounds terrific!

  5. My favorite is spinach dip, and I love Kettle brand, my family loves their products, my favorite are plain, but I know I should try all of them, oh it is a Christmas season so I can do that;)

    1. The kettle brand chips are so good, right? So so crisp and I love the short ingredients list. Yes, try the other flavors this holiday season!

    1. Someone else said salsa too – I never think of salsa right away with dips, but I do love it! I even use it as a salad dressing sometimes.

  6. I absolutely love anything with garlic so I’m excited to try this recipe! My favorite dip would probably have to be garlic hummus.

    1. I love hummus, but somehow I’ve never had the garlic variety?! Probably because I’m always drawn to roasted red pepper varieties. 🙂

  7. We love Kettle Brand Chips! we usually get the Reduced Fat Sea Salt chips. My husband loves the Jalapeno. I would love to try the Cheddar Beer.

    1. I really want to try the cheddar too! I haven’t seen them in stores yet, but I’m on a mission to find them. 🙂

  8. My favorite is cream cheese-based hot dip with chopped tomatoes and chilis. The colors are perfect for the holidays and it is so warm and tasty.

    1. Sounds like a spicy dip, but I bet the cream cheese helps tame the heat a bit! Sounds tasty and you’re right about the colors, nice and festive!

  9. this dip looks AMAZING!!!! I am a dip-fiend, especially with greek yogurt as the base.
Love this giveaway! I could use that extra $100 to pay for my new monthly server fees! My favorite holiday dip is spinach and artichoke. Warm with some pita bread and baby carrots. 🙂

    1. I feel that if you use greek yogurt as a base for a dip, you can eat at lease double, possibly triple the amount. 😉 Mmm, dip with pita bread – now I want that for breakfast, ha!

    1. You and a bajillion others seem to love this dip – I have never loved it, which is surprising because of all of the spinach in it 🙂

  10. I love Helluva Good’s bacon horseradish dip — so bad for you, but so good! I don’t keep it in the house, because I’d eat it too often 🙂

    1. Aww, I will always love the Helluva Good dips – I grew up near where they originally made the dips (not sure if they still make them there)

  11. Green onion and garlic is my most favorite dip of all times. Got to say, this recipe has caught my eye for sure.

Around the holidays we add pimentos for the red color.
    Thank you.

  14. Your cranberry dip sounds delicious–can’t wait to try it! I love classic 7-layer dip, spinach dip, and hot crab & artichoke dip. oh, gosh, maybe I love all dips! Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. It’s probably not really a holiday dip, but we only make it at the holidays, because it is too fattening and too addictive to eat year round. haha. CORN DIP.
