Welcome to my little spec on the web!  My name is Liz (or Lizzy), and I created Little Bitty Bakes to share my love for baking with anyone and everyone!  As my blog continues to grow, I hope to share more than just recipes.  ‘Til then, here’s a little bit about me:

Why ‘Little Bitty Bakes?’ Though I don’t remember, apparently my nickname as a toddler was Little Bitty.  And I think Little Bitty Bakes would be a great name for a bakery with little bitty cupcakes and such.  Anyway, I think it’s great we can all share our interests with one another by blogging, and I’m hoping this little blog will evolve into something quite fun and enjoyable for many!

How little is Little Bitty? Not very – I turned 25 on May 29th this year.  Yep, I share my birthday with Carmelo AnthonyFellow Syracuse fans know how neat that little fact is. My Real Age is 16.8, which obviously has a lot to do with all the cookies I eat working out I do.  I feel a lot younger than I once thought 25 would feel like, and am glad I have 4 years ’til my champagne birthday.

Where does Little Bitty live? I grew up in Central NY in Oswego (on the shore of Lake Ontario).  Best known for our lake effect snow.  Never visit Oswego in January or February.  Or, visit then and be glad you don’t live there! I’ve since spent time all over NY state and even in everyone’s favorite state, NJ.  I currently live outside of Rochester, NY.  I would love to live in another region of the country at some point, though! Which brings us to…

If Little Bitty could live anywhere… Ideally, it’d be a combination of NYC and upstate NY with the climate of southern California.  I enjoy both fast and super slow paced life, and nice weather = more workouts and swimming!

Does Little Bitty bake all day long? I wish I could say yes.  I work in market research.  Think surveys, focus groups, etc.  I’ve been pretty lucky to have some good jobs post-college in some terrible economic conditions.  Of course, in an ideal world, I’d run a successful bakery.  And in a really ideal world, I’d get to blog all day long about my recipes and not have to live in a cardboard box because of it. 😉  Oh, you know Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel?  I would love her job.

This blog is all about baking.  How do you stay healthy? It’s tough sometimes!  Luckily, way too many years of competitive swimming have made me a disciplined athlete.  I’m currently training for my first marathon (NYC).  Check out my Road to Central Park section of my blog for more on that.  I try to eat healthy to make up for all of the desserts I consume.  That being said, I do still occasionally eat ice cream for dinner.  What?  Ice cream has protein, you know.

  1. Hi Liz!

My name is Carmen, I am 18 years old and I am from Spain. I found your blog thanks to a link from another who had a picture of one of your delightful creations.

I LOVE your blog. I think it is really beautiful. And I have decided to write to you here because I do love cooking too and I usually go running.
I really like it. It takes my stress away and allows me to relax and think about how beautiful life really is.

Another thing that has shocked me from your blog and you is that you are from Syracuse, right?
I was there -well, at Jamesville- and I spent two months with an American Family. I really had a nice time and, right there is where I decided to begin running.

I am not as professional as you are, of course.
    I just run 30 minutes or 40, 4 times a week.

And I like to have healthy habits too.

I will definately come to your blog and take some recipies, if you don’t mind!!

P.S. I am on my first school year (Studying the LAW career). If I was given a 2nd chance to change my studies, I would take Cooking.
You can e-mail me at my e-mail adress and tell me anything you want.

Thank you so much for reading my comment.

    1. Hi Carmen – thanks for the note! Such a small world that you were over here and so close to where I live. Hopefully you weren’t here during the winter!

Good luck with school, sounds like you’ve got a great future!

  2. Hi Liz! I’m Jimena and I’m from Mexico. I just found your blog and it’s very interesting!!! I love how you can make a lot of yummy stuff with food!!

Do you create the recipes? Because if so.. congrats 😀 I will keep reading the blog.

  3. Hi, just found your blog – I also live near Syracuse! Can’t wait to read the rest of your posts 🙂

  4. I’ve just spent a good half hour drooling over everything on your site and pinning at least 5 recipes. I LOVE that you use Chobani so often in your desserts–I’m always trying to find recipes that incorporate greek yogurt! Thanks for sharing all your recipes…I’m following your blog now! 🙂

  5. Liz, I just saw Nicole’s post and followed the link. This is an awesome blog! I’m totally going to look through your recipes!

  6. Thank you for your blog! I, too, am a runner (just completed by 2nd marathon) and LOVE my sweets! I think it’s the one thing that is keeping the weight on and not falling off with all of the running I have been doing. 😦 Thank you for your easy to follow recipes.

PS I can relate to your doctoral studies…I am also working on mine! 🙂

      1. Educational Leadership 🙂 I am currently loosing my motivation for running…any advice for me? I ran a marathon a month ago and will be running a half this Sunday. Maybe I just need a break?! I am afraid that will drive me batty, though! 🙂 Thank you for any advice you might have!

      2. Hmm, sounds like you might just need a break! I know a lot of people can train for races year-round, but personally, I enjoy the mental breaks. 🙂
